Abstract :
A specific fuzzy controller is developed for the regulation of a pH neutralization process. This fuzzy controller is primarily that of the fuzzy PD control structure but simultaneously enhanced by a normal integrator and a Smith predictor. The model of the pH neutralization process considered has highly nonlinear characteristics with time delay. The properties of the overall system are discussed in terms of nonlinearity and robustness. The design of the controller is carried out based on fuzzy set theory and a classical control principle. The simulation results obtained demonstrate that this novel controller is effective and has potential for this difficult control problem
