Abstract :
The paper presents a prototype implementation of a Java-based mobile agent architecture. The main focus lies on service trading and easy access to various services for mobile agents. The mediator for both mobile and service agents is called Service Center which is a crucial constituent of each agent platform within the mobile agent infrastructure. It allows to independently program services and mobile agents based on the generic agent concept. Another advantage of the Service Center architecture is the exploitation of an already existing LDAP server that is used as the distributed service directory for mobile agents
