Abstract :
The control language and common data interface for a real-time digital signal processing (DSP) receiver are described. A low level serial interface standard for the DSP receiver is described, and techniques which allow multiple DSP receivers to be remotely controlled by a single controller are discussed. This arrangement of remote receivers can be configured to measure and respond to real-time multiple-channel traffic on cellular and paging channels for market studies, adaptive RF coverage and control, fraud detection and abatement, and law enforcement applications. With a standardized control language, the receiver system described can be used for a wide range of custom applications for cellular, paging, and personal communication network measurement and control
