Abstract :
A switched-mode limited feedback scheme with sum-rate maximizing beamforming is proposed for cooperative multiceli MIMO systems. In order to enhance the sum-rate performance, the proposed scheme switches between three modes, where different channel state information (CSI) is chosen and quantized with variable resolution. The feedback bit allocation within each mode is optimized according to the interfering signal strength. Simulation results show that the proposed limited feedback scheme yields higher sum-rate than the conventional solutions such as non-cooperative eigen-beamforming in the high SINR regime.
