Abstract :
The scatterometer can be significantly affected by rain, especially those operated on Ku-band. The effects are related to many parameters, such as rain rate and frequency. In this paper, a model which takes all the parameters into accounted is presented. The effects of all the parameters played on sea surface back scattering with precipitation are analyzed using this model. The analyzed results indicate that rain volume fraction and frequency are key factors, while influence of raindrop size polarization is less obvious.
