Abstract :
A complete coverage of contingencies ensures a comprehensive reliability analysis complying NERC planning standards. In this regard, a contingency database is designed to document contingencies, make statistics, validate contingencies and check redundant contingencies. This paper introduces the design of a contingency database, its ability to validate data through query and check redundancy data via set theory in computer theory. The paper also demonstrates the potential use of the database in probability reliability assessment.
