Abstract
The high energy consumption in the local network often leads to energy hole problem in wireless sensor networks (WSNs), It easy to make the WSNs dying prematurely. The effective way is the evenness of energy consumption of each node. Unlike other existed schemes, we sliced the circular field into concentric circular bands of fixed width. By combining the direct transmission protocol and hop-by-hop transmission protocol to achieve energy-balanced consumption. Our scheme can give specific formula to calculate the probability of hop-by-hop transmission and that of single-hop transmission. Numerical results show our scheme balances the individual energy consumption of different bands, while keeping the total energy consumption in a rather low level.
