Abstract :
SAW devices are widely used in consumer electronics products and communication equipment as key devices of RF circuits to realize their high performance, small dimension and low cost. Recent expansion of mobile communication is noticeable. It is, however, supported and lead by various technologies of public communication systems such as fiber optics, digital microwave equipment and satellites. Various custom SAW devices for public communication systems have been already widely used and still progress. This paper reviews the recent progress of these SAW devices. As recent SAW timing filters for clock recovery, ultra small SAW filters, high stable LST cut SAW filters and GHz band SAW filters are shown. Second, high precision wide and medium band SAW roll-off shaping filters for digital microwave equipment are reported. Finally, present and future applications of SAW devices for satellites are discussed
