Abstract :
As networks, particularly wireless networks, evolve, there has become a proliferation of different protocols and operational parameters available for their implementation. This is especially true for wireless sensor networks, but also for WLANS and cognitive radio systems. Selecting the optimum set of protocols and parameters for a specific application or operating condition becomes a serious challenge in these cases which traditional communication network simulators on their own are unable to address. This paper presents a solution whereby a simulator is interfaced with a Genetic algorithm to from an adaptive simulation environment in which an optimum solution can be determined.
