Abstract :
The use of wireless sensor network technology for environmental monitoring is becoming increasingly important. A major limitation of existing sensor nodes is their short transmission range. This paper introduces the JCUMote which is based on the Mica2 Mote, but has a transmission range up to 10 km. This paper discusses the design of the transceiver hardware, in particular the RF power amplifier and receiver isolation network for the JCUMote
