Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to assess the level of harmonics on a diamond mining ship in accordance with the NRS048 standards. The investigation was done on a DeBeers mining vessel, Debmar Pacific. After the measurements were obtained simulations of the ship´s electrical system were carried out using DIgSILENT. The results of the simulation indicated the effectiveness of some proposed mitigation equipment in reducing the generated harmonics to acceptable levels.
