Abstract :
In this paper, the issues in wireless resource management in multiuser multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems are addressed. In particular, we investigate the problems in the design of user scheduling algorithms based on spatial division multiple access (SDMA). We review the existing scheduling algorithms optimized for single input single output (SISO) multiuser systems and point out their drawbacks when they are applied under SDMA scheme. In the light of this, we propose a new idea for a scheduling algorithm based on SDMA approach. The proposed algorithm is optimized for the receiver with linear zero forcing detection algorithm and supports adaptive adjustment of utility function weighting factors based on the traffic type, queue status and link conditions of each user. Preliminary algorithm evaluation is also included in the report.
