Abstract :
The application of demand side management (DSM) techniques play an important role in the present electrical energy scenario in Brazil, as a way to reduce the energy waste, to postpone the construction of new plants and to incentivate energy conservation. The development of new methodologies for applying DSM to the residential consumers is important mainly to modulate their load curve, and for reducing their consumed power during peak periods. This work shows how the application of DSM, in particular the load management, can be a very efficient technique for energy conservation.
