Abstract :
In the proposed waveguides, while the surface plasmon polariton mode provides the vertical confinement, the strong horizontal confinement is obtained by a mode gap, that is, no horizontally propagation mode is allowed outside of the guiding region. As a result, a tight bending with a small additional radiation loss is possible.
