Abstract
The present paper deals with the problem of a reaction diffusion (R-D) two species Lotka-Volterra (L-V) competitive system. It has been observed that cross-diffusions (constant coefficients) are necessary to maintain spatial pattern (Patchiness) in this system. By introducing time varying cross-diffusivity the authors have found that cross-diffusive instability is less likely to occur in this system with time varying cross-diffusivity than those with constant cross-diffusivity
