Abstract :
Hyperspectral analysis of urban areas has the potential to deliver a cost-effective alternative to urban planning and management. This paper describes the compilation of a spectral library of urban surface materials which was used for calibrating an airborne hyperspectral image of a selected area in Perth, Western Australia. Spectral unmixing was performed to decompose this image into abundance of individual surface materials. A geo-referenced map showing the distribution of surface materials was generated
