Abstract :
The propagation of intense, ultrashort laser pulses produces filamentation whose onset can be controlled by rotating the plane of polarization of incident light in condensed media. Such control is demonstrated in both isotropic and uniaxial crystals. Further, pulse compression of ultrashort pulses using condensed media will be discussed.
