Abstract :
Until this past june, Sheldon Hochheiser was happily employed as the archivist and institutional historian at the IEEE History Center. "I had every intention of finishing my career here," he says. "There was only one job that would\´ve made me leave." That one job was at the AT&T Archives and History Center, in Warren, N.J., where Hochheiser had previously worked for 16 years. The facility houses the largest corporate archives in the United States and one of the largest in the world. "It???s an extraordinary collection," says Hochheiser. "There are 8 to 9 shelf???miles of documents, 600,000 photographs, 20,000 films and videos, and 10,000 artifacts, going all the way back to Alexander Graham Bell\´s original patents."
