Abstract :
We developed specifications for a new type of removable storage medium called an "information versatile disk for removable usage" (iVDRtrade). The objects of these specifications range from the physical layer to application layer in order to achieve the interoperability among various appliances. This paper describes a security architecture to control content utilization, a logical format based on the DDF file system, and an interface protocol applicable for AT-Attachment. The interface protocol conforms to the architecture and the format and is based on the public key infrastructure (PK1). It is applicable to systems based on Superdistribution
