Abstract :
In this paper, we propose an Intra Frame Interpolation (IFI) algorithm for video sequence with H.264 codec. It is based on H.264 intra prediction models combined with block interpolation method according to different applications. The proposed algorithm not only improves the quality of enlarged images produced by Neighborhood (NB), Bilinear (BL), or Bicubic (BI) interpolation methods, but also accelerates the speed of H.264 codec of enlarged images. In experiments with general tested video sequence, IFI method can increase the speed by 1 ~ 6.5 times and gets 0.4 ~ 1.0 dB PSNR gain.
