Abstract
To manipulate semantic web and integrate different data sources effectively, automatic schema matching plays a key role. We present a hybrid schema matching approach based on Cupid scheme to find the similarity of generic schémas and generate match results. The proposed SYM approach includes two phases. In the linguistic similarity matching phase, a new linguistic matching method was proposed to find the similarity between two element names in schémas. The structural similarity matching phase calculates the structure similarity between two sets of nodes. The approach is evaluated by testing on several benchmarks of real schémas and comparing with other methods. The experimental results show that SYM performs high effectiveness on 1-1 schema matching.
