Abstract :
In this work, crosstalk in three-conductor uniform and lossless transmission lines is investigated, and described from the statistical viewpoint. Closed form expressions are derived for the probability density function (PDF) and the cumulative distribution function (CDF) of near- and far-end crosstalk voltages, for lines with specific cross-section characteristics (equal-height and random distance conductors). Crosstalk description for more general cross-section configurations is achieved via repeated-run analysis, referring to a line cross-section with circular wire-uncertainty-region, and suitable normalized geometrical characteristics. In particular, the behavior of crosstalk PDF versus frequency and line geometry are analyzed and discussed.
