Abstract :
Frequency domain linear-quadratic (LQ) filtering schemes analogous to the overlap-and-add or overlap-and-save methods [Oppenheim and Schafer, 1987] for linear filters are developed. The new method is straightforward in implementation and requires less computation than the fast algorithm presented in Morhac [1991]. If an application requires minimum time delay in the output, filtering in the time domain is recommended. For such applications, the authors have rearranged the input-output (I/O) model of LQ filters and developed an efficient time domain LQ filtering scheme by running a set of linear filters with quadratic inputs in parallel
