Abstract :
Because of the limitations of the inertial navigation system, high accuracy navigation is a challenge for planes in the Arctic. One of the biggest problems is the initial alignment. Against the special conditions (high latitude and longitude astringe etc.) in the Arctic, new inertial navigation system mechanization equations are established, and a novel in-fight aid alignment scheme is proposed in this paper. The scheme applies Multi-Population Genetic Algorithm (MGA) for solving the nonlinear equations in inertial system. The simulation contains coarse alignment with MGA, inertial navigation after coarse alignment and fine alignment aiding with GPS. The simulation results show that the scheme is suitable for initial alignment and navigation in the Arctic.
