Abstract :
QROUTE is a QoS guaranteed constraint-based routing protocol supporting both unicast and multicast within the same routing framework. We present an implementation of a prototype of QROUTE under LINUX, focusing on its unicast aspect. We describe the details of the modification to LINUX for supporting QROUTE protocol stack which can coexist with other protocols; in addition we evaluate the performance of the prototype in terms of link utilization, routing overhead and call blocking probability. Finally we compare the results of the test-bed experiments with that of simulation modelling and find that they are closely agreed.
