Abstract :
A novel coarse carrier frequency estimation algorithm is proposed for IEEE 802.11a receivers. This method employs the properties of the preamble to reduce the carrier acquisition problem to single tone frequency estimation. It offers good performance in both AWGN and multipath channels, especially at low SNR.
