Abstract :
The key requirements for an OFDM polar transmitter complying to IEEE 802.11a standard are studied at circuit block level. A system level simulator Agilent-ADS is used to model the transmitter with various impairments. The effects of different nonidealities are studied separately with respect to error vector magnitude and conformance to transmit mask. A reasonable set of block specification is given and its compliance to the standard is verified.
