  • Abstract
    Summary form only given. We report a new FROG geometry using wavelength conversion in optical fiber which has been used to characterize 1 mW peak power, 20 ps pulses from an unamplified semiconductor laser. We use a novel configuration whereby a pulsed pump is mixed with a CW signal to generate an idler We thus obtain an effective second-order nonlinear response that can be used to generate a FROG trace.
