Abstract :
The design of a positive real H∞ controller for a positive real plant is considered using a state space approach. This approach requires the solution of two algebraic Riccati equations. With use of certain weight matrices, the Kalman-Yakubovitch lemma is applied to assure positive realness of the controller. As in the usual H∞ case, an a posteriori test must be made to ensure consistency of the solution
