Abstract
An idealized model is developed for a spinning spacecraft with internal mass motion and axial thrust. The model includes both damping and elastic forces. Using Liapunov analysis, stability conditions are developed. The results indicate that the asymptotical stability is possible for the coning motion either if the moving mass is forward of the system mass center or if the thrust magnitude is sufficiently large
