Abstract :
Recently wireless sensor networks (WSN) have received a lot of attention due to their wide applications both in military and civil fields. Generally sensors in such systems are small devices with limited on-board energy supply, thus efficient management of the network is crucial in extending the life of the system. In this paper we present a novel energy-aware approach for clustering nodes in wireless sensor network. The main goal of our approach is to design a clustering algorithm which could guarantee fairly uniform and optimum cluster distribution, convergence in an acceptable time while incurring low overhead.
