Abstract :
Since random access technology can not guarantee Quality of Service (QoS) requirements in general, the centralized polling-based access mechanism, such as point coordination function in IEEE 802.11, is provided in wireless network to support QoS related services. Although legacy polling-based access scheme has an inherent problem, an efficient polling scheme can improve it and enhance the performance of a system while guaranteeing various QoS requirements. In this paper, we propose a simple but effective scheduling scheme for traffics over wireless networks. The conducted study based on the theoretical analysis and the simulation has shown that the proposed scheme is able to guarantee shorter access delay and higher stability.
