Abstract
The online storage subsystem, including hard disks in RAID, video server memory and their interface bus, is an important component of the multimedia system. Its proper configuration has a great influence on the system performances. The data throughput provided by RAID is calculated specially, and the issues on how to design the online storage subsystem in video server is presented under the real-time constrain of the multimedia stream. The experiment proves the efficacy of the proposed configuration scheme.
