Abstract
The reduction of speckle in SAR (synthetic aperture radar) image is the prime problem in SAR image processing. The authors propose a new approach in polarimetric SAR speckle reduction. They estimate simultaneously the texture parameters of multi-polarimetric channels by the method of maximum likelihood under the assumption of multi-texture. This approach preserves the polarimetric properties, reduces the couple between polarimetric channels. They also compare it with the PWF (polarimetric whitening filter)
