Abstract
We propose a framework of flow control in high speed ATM wide area networks. With the advancement of per-VC queueing in ATM switch design, we propose peak bandwidth allocation and therefore no flow control for delay-sensitive traffic, and hop-by-hop credit-based flow control for delay-insensitive traffic
