  • Abstract
    An intelligent tiered pricing meter based on ZigBee, a wireless network, is designed in order to carry out the policy of saving energy and cutting emissions in China. This design can intelligentize electricity supervision and implement a power company´s measure of the time-of-use tariff. The energy meter uses MSP430FE427, a low-power micro-controller, to implement time-of-use pricing and uses CC2430, a low-power chip, to realize wireless meter reading. The anti-electricity-larceny function is realized by using ESP430CE1, the energy metering module, which is embedded in MSP430FE427. After the architecture of ZigBee protocol stack and the work flow of operating system abstraction layer (OSAL) are analyzed, the program of electricity metering is presented. As the terminal nodes of wireless meter reading system, the intelligent meters can easily implement wireless transmission of data, and can improve the accuracy and efficiency of the meter reading.
