Abstract :
An optimization method for variable speed switched reluctance motor was proposed. In this method, the performance map was obtained by calculating the performance goal over the specified torque-speed range, the integration of the performance goal over the map was used to evaluate the motor. Rather than optimizing motor performance for a given operating point, the method considered all the specific load conditions of the motor, which satisfied the design requirement of high performance motor over wide speed range. A motor efficiency optimization case was presented. The comparative study with the traditional single operation point based optimization was also given. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
