Abstract :
The R&D tests of the live cleaning machine of Whqs-500 type used at ±500 kV converter stations is carried out, including the three parts of insulating pole, insulating tube/cleaner and insulating cord, and the security of all these parts is validated. The withstand voltage and leakage current to the whole machine is also tested for the security of the whole machine. The R&D test in the field of the machine indicates that it can be operated with agility and convenience, and works well to clean the polluted insulators at ±500kV converter stations.
