Abstract :
Summary from only given. The optical properties of PbPhenac, one of a new class of nonvolatile liquid nonlinear materials, are substantially different from the related phthalocyanines primarily because of the presence of large peripheral rings. These alter both the linear spectrum and the photoprocesses that control the nonlinear optical properties. They drive the formation of low lying, potentially chiral, isomers. These liquid materials can be used to fill complex optical structures and enable the fabrication of novel nonlinear devices.
