Abstract :
An introduction to the dynamic modelling of aircraft gas turbines is presented, starting with an outline of their construction and operation. This is followed by a discussion of the basic requirements of a good engine model. A review of the work previously conducted in this field is then presented, which examines both the models derived and the engine testing methods employed. Attention is paid to modelling the basic dynamic response of the engine and to modelling thermal effects during large transient manoeuvres
