Abstract
In the current industrial climate, there is an ever increasing need for contractors such as ATG airports to enforce their safety culture when working on today´s busy airports. The safety risks from working on airports exist in many forms and are not always obvious. Typical risks that exist to the safety, health and welfare of employees are many. One of the main areas of legislation that needs to be taken into account when defining company safety policy is the Electricity at Work Regulations which provide the initial items for consideration. In particular regulations 3, 4 and 16 are relevant (persons on whom duties are imposed, systems, work activities, and persons to be competent to prevent danger and injury) and are discussed in this paper
