Abstract :
In this paper, we propose reduced-complexity multiple symbol differential detection (MSDD) scheme for UWB energy detection receiver. The proposed scheme jointly detects blocks of received symbols without requiring training and a two-step subset search algorithm is developed to enable practical implementations at desired performance versus complexity tradeoffs. The simulation results show that the proposed MSDD receiver performs better than the conventional different detection (DD) receiver while maintaining a low computational complexity.
