Abstract
This paper presents circuit design and operation principle of a newly developed phase-shifted PWM full-bridge converter for capacitor charging. The proposed system is designed with soft switching techniques to achieve high efficiency. Also, proposed system is series type and it is used for pulse corona occurrence of DeSOx, DeNOx system using magnetic pulse compressor (MPC). The MPC system is required high withstanding voltage because it uses high voltage application. To overcome the problem associated with high voltage stress, the high voltage transformer separated with three sections. The performance test of the capacitor charging power supply (CCPS) was carried out with a 2muF load capacitor at 20kV output voltage and pulse repetition frequency is 300Hz.
