  • Abstract
    A rigorous analysis of wave propagation in a hollow ferrite tube under azimuthal magnetization, internally loaded by periodically spaced susceptive discs, and with the outer cylindrical surface adjoined to a metallic circular waveguide has been conducted. No limitation on the correlation between the elements of the permeability tensor of the ferrite tube is required, and the field components are expressed by special functions of the first- and second kinds evaluated by power series expansions. Computed dispersion curves for the first circularly non-symmetric quasi-TE and quasi-TM modes for different loading periods are presented and compared. This kind of structure is appropriate for implementing latching phase shifters with enhanced differential phase shift
