Abstract
The technical characteristics of four different designs of single junction thermal converters (SJTCs) are evaluated in this paper. This variety in the designs represents the technical trials in developing enhanced thermoelements and in minimizing the values of their transfer errors. A traceable automated system was used to investigate the time responses, DC reversal difference, and the voltage and frequency dependences. The comparison was performed at the rated current, 5 mA, for frequencies from 10 Hz to 100 kHz. In addition, simulations of the electrical characteristics of the four samples were performed, extending the investigation of the frequency dependence up to 1 MHz. A brief description of the uncertainty statement is also included.
