Abstract
Summary form only given. A series of experiments has been under way at the Naval Research Laboratory, in collaboration with Argonne National Laboratory and Euclid Techlabs LLC, with the goal of demonstrating efficient, high gradient acceleration in X-band dielectric-loaded accelerating (DLA) structures [1]. These studies have focused on the mitigation of multipactor and breakdown phenomena in DLA structures. This paper will discuss a study of multipactor loading in a standing-wave (SW) DLA structure, a study of multipactor suppression in a traveling-wave (TW) DLA structure by means of an applied axial magnetic field, and planned tests of multipactor suppression in new SW and TW DLA structures.
