Abstract
We describe a multilayer adaptive beamforming method, for a large element-digitised array radar (EDAR). Range-dependent gain adaption (RDGA) at each array element offers effective cancellation of clutter. Simulations of airborne intercept (AI) radar demonstrate the power of this approach and illustrate its robustness to random phase and amplitude errors in the array
