Abstract :
Broadband power line communication (BPL) is a novel technology for constructing home networks. However, the electric field radiating from the power lines could change the indoor electromagnetic environment even disturb other radio communication services. Thus, a model based on four- port networks is proposed to evaluate the radiating field. Numerous branches of power lines are also taken into account. The radiating electric field from a 12-m-long indoor power line with 3 branches has been measured and the results demonstrate the practical value of the proposed model.
