Abstract
The coalition attack guidance series of experiments aims to develop new concepts of operations for joint fires and battlespace deconfliction across a coalition run military operation. While there is a considerable body of scientific knowledge on the principles for designing defence experiments, there is a gap in translating these principles into the pragmatics for designing large-scale, distributed, peer-to-peer federated experiments. A system-of-systems approach is described in this paper to translate the guiding principles of experimentation design into a usable product for the campaign of experiments. This paper also presents the experiment design methodology developed for the most recent experiment in the series, CAGE IIIA. This methodology is refined and several changes are proposed for the next experiment in the series, CAGE IIIB.
