Abstract :
Aiming to obtain higher coupling coefficient, a new contactless structure is proposed. This structure adopts U type magnetic core structure improvement, termed as C type magnetic core. The proposed CC core transformer is compared to a conventional transformer using a general UU core with a 10 mm air gap. Factors that affect the mutual inductance coupling have been investigated, including magnetic flux lines distribution, magnetic flux density distribution, magnetic core loss and magnetic core type. A simulation model of magnetic core of a contactless electric vehicle charging system is established by using finite element method (FEM), verifying the effectiveness of the proposed structure.
